Many of you have been with us since the beginning, and many of you have been using the Yahoo! Group system for a while. We welcome you here with open arms. Those of you that are new, we welcome you too, perhaps with a more receptive tone because we know it takes courage to come forth into a group like this.
This site has been created and is being run using donated time and money. The purpose was to form a safe-haven for people who suffer from PSAS and to provide a home for a compilation of information about the condition. Running a full website with a bulletin board system and many members is time-intensive and is not free, but we are offering access at no charge to anyone.
We do require registration to be able to post on the forums, and many member-only areas will be unlocked with registration. With access to the forums, you can post, reply, create your own threads, and run your own polls in our poll section.
For members who donate $15 or more to help keep the site running, we are offering you the chance to create and manage your own personalized journal within the site. Your journal can be customized with a number of templates and options, and you have the ability to make public, private, or password-protected posts. Your web journal would be hosted on our domain, so your URL would include psas-support.com. In addition to this, you get one email address of your choice @psas-support.com to point to any email address or, if you prefer, we can give you POP3 and SMTP access. You also get access to your inbox via webmail. Along with the journal and the email address, you also get access to our live chat among members. There are two kinds of chat options - one is to use our server with Jabber, which is similar to Yahoo! chat or AIM but is set up to only be used for members of the psas-support website. The other chat option is live web chat with anyone who happens to be on at the time and using the chat interface. This means you can set up times to meet with people online and not have to worry about setting up new programs or running extra software on your computer - you just come to this site and start!
Another way to get the extra access is to refer a new user to Dreamhost, who is our hosting provider. If you refer a user to Dreamhost and they sign up using our promo code or through our special promo link, they get $50 off their hosting plan OR they get the setup fee waived ($49.95 value). This benefits them and it benefits us because we get a referral fee. Another person this benefits is you, because you will get credit for the referral and your access will get the full level of access. The only thing necessary is for you to email us the name of the account that you referred who bought hosting, and we will get the ball rolling on your new setup.

You are also able to give gift access for the same donation of $15. Just let us know when you donate that it is for a gift and, if you know the email address of the person you are gifting, add that in. If you don’t have this information, we will work something out for you and your giftee.
